Academy
An apprentice is someone who is employed by a business and trained between the ages
of 16-
There are two types of apprenticeship*:
Apprenticeship (includes Level 2 NVQ)
Advanced apprenticeship (includes Level 3 NVQ)
Both types have the same structure. An Advanced Apprenticeship is just a bit more difficult to achieve. S&B Automotive Academy will help you make the right choice.
*Applicable to England. For apprentices employed in Wales and Scotland, Foundation Modern Apprenticeships and Modern Apprenticeships are available.
Apprenticeship structure
Think of an apprenticeship as a kit that you need to build. It’s made up of a number of different parts that you have to complete. Each part gives you a qualification and when you have achieved all these, you will get your apprenticeship certificate. All qualifications within the apprenticeship are awarded by IMI Awards which is part of The Institute of the Motor Industry. This organisation is the professional association for people who work in the UK automotive sector.
