Role Location: Bristol + off-site teaching

Company vehicle: A pool car or van will be supplied when needed for company travel

Purpose of Role

This role will be part of a developing contract for us to meet one of our national customers needs in the bus and coach industry. The role of the Bus Mechanical/HGV Mechanical technical trainer is to teach, guide and support the development and progression of our learners on apprenticeship programmes. To deliver the required framework, providing effective and engaging training via a blended learning approach. It will also involve the delivery of a wide range of short training courses for mature students.

This role will be primarily based in Bristol but there will be teaching on other sites that may mean several weeks away at a time. When this happens, S&B AA will cover costs of Hotels and Travel.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver and facilitate assessment and training which encourages accelerated learning and results in new knowledge and skills being applied into the workplace

Evaluate and modify training delivery as a result of learner satisfaction and key stakeholder feedback

Ensure knowledge of all subject areas including technical training and competitors are kept constantly updated by way of self-development (CPD)

Work as part of the assessing team and give feedback and offer ideas and suggestions for improving team performance

Support learners in regard to all safeguarding, homestay and general support issues.

Essential Qualifications, Experience & Knowledge:

Minimum NVQ Level 3 Relevant Occupational Qualification or equivalent

Will be able to demonstrate experience in relevant Bus/HGV/Auto Electrical to include advanced diagnostics.

Confidence to deliver both Mechanical and Auto Electrical to both Bus and HGV students and over a range of technical courses.

Time Management skills with the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines

Ability to work under own initiative with the minimum of supervision as part of a remote team

Ability to motivate and support learners

Desirable Qualifications, Experience & Knowledge:

Knowledge of Government Funded training

You will have gained or be willing to work towards:

Level 3 Assessors Award or equivalent

Level 4 Internal Quality of Assurance Qualification

Formal Teaching Qualification
